Spirit Talker: A Nate Grisham Tale

Nate and Cotton are attending the annual mountain man Fur Rendezvous; overnight a rival trapper is mysteriously murdered. As an angry crowd gathers, Cotton is astonished to discover his missing knife is protruding from the dead man’s chest.

The mob insists on swift justice and Cotton’s lynching, but cooler heads prevail and Cotton, followed by a protesting Nate, are tied up in preparation for a make-shift trial the next day. Luckily Nate’s son’s has seen everything and he sets them free with the help of a few loyal friends.

Both Nate and Cotton know they must make a run for it and try to find the real killers. They have one lead, a young Sioux maid by the name of Little Sparrow who overheard the murderer’s plan. It will be a hard journey. Every inch of the way the angry mob will be dogging their heels. And the killers they are chasing are just as wilderness savvy as Nate and Cotton. But with Cotton’s life on the line, what choice do they have.
