Double Agent in the Cold War

Double Agent in the Cold War

Description

This book provides an insight into life under a dictatorship, specifically in East Germany. Russia is currently an example of a totalitarian country under Putin. He wants to extend his influence to the United States and Europe. People, be warned! You can only successfully confront such a dictator with strength.

In March 1967, I visited my girlfriend again in communist East Germany. The first time, some years earlier, I interviewed the minister for Education and Youth, Margot Honecker. That seemed sufficient reason for the military intelligence service to approach me "for nice articles about the Dutch royal family". Back in the Netherlands, I reported to the police and ended up with the BVD counter-espionage service. That's how I ended up in a side job, for which you can't apply. I enjoyed that job. I never felt unsafe, although I ended up in a police cell twice due to rookie mistakes. But what amateurs those East German spy escorts were. If I had followed their advice, I would have run into the lamp immediately in Western Europe. It was very nice to take pictures with me that clearly showed how I went against those advisors to ensure my safety. According to reviews, it has become a fun book to read, which very well reflects the factual views of the Cold War in Europe.
